Export Center: Russia’s non-energy exports hit record in 2018
MOSCOW, Feb 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s non-energy exports hit an all-time record of U.S. $150 billion in 2018, Andrei Slepnev, head of the Russian Export Center, said on Wednesday at a forum of entrepreneur organization Business Russia.
“We’ve analyzed data for 2018, and official statistics will arrive in a few days. It is already clear that we have set a historic record for non raw material, non-energy exports at the level of $150 billion, while the previous record of $144 billion was set in 2012, so the dynamics is great,” he said.
“We see that the share of non-energy exports in the gross domestic product rose by 2 percentage points to 18.2% from 16.2%, so there actually is a transformation movement, our companies are making more and more money at external markets selling a wide range of goods and services.”
Still, only 0.8% of Russian companies export their products and services, so more businessmen should start thinking about exports, he added.
